As famílias do grupo são dos Estados Unidos da América e do Brasil; portanto, os recursos podem ser diferentes dependendo do país e até da região de qualquer um dos dois países.
A melhor coisa a fazer é entrar em contato com o médico da família ou com a pediatra e marcar uma reunião com os diretores e coordenadores do sistema escolar da sua região para discutir um plano.

Se o coronavirus chegar às cidades vizinhas, vamos tirar a nossa filha da escola temporariamente, até que uma vacina seja criada ou o governo do estado anuncie que eles estão com a situação sob controle.
Descobrimos, em reunião com o Sr. Thompson e a Sra. Vaillancourt, que Massachusetts pode fornecer um benefício da educação em casa para casos específicos; esses casos devem ser discutidos primeiro com um médico e os diretores do sistema escolar e coordenadores do IEP (Programa de Educação Individualizado)
Com esse programa o estado envia um profissional até a casa da criança para continuar com as aulas e treinos mais importantes para a criança.

The vaccines are created with a sample of the dead virus so it stimulates and in a way “train” our immune system to fight the virus in a dead state (in the vaccine), so if you get the virus later, the immune system will “remember” to fight the virus, previously introduced through the vaccine.
Government agencies and scientists around the world are working non-stop to develop and test a vaccine.
In the meantime…
If a person with Down Syndrome (Low Immune System) gets the virus, it is most likely to be a bigger challenge to remediate.
My wife and I are doing everything we can to avoid contamination, we are taking every precaution, including our own “Preventive Plan“.
We would like to be very clear, this is a plan carefully researched and consulted with real professionals, so a best group decision can be made for the well being of our daughter, and we are sharing it so it can inform all families in the group, to do their own “Preventive Plan”, which might be different approaches than the one we are taking!
The families in the group are from the United States of America, and Brazil, so resources could be different depending on the country, and even region inside any of the two countries.
The best thing to do is to contact the family Doctor or the family Pediatrician, and then set a meeting with the school system directors and coordinators of your area to discuss a plan.
Our plan:
If the Corona Virus reaches the surrounding cities, we would take Thais off the school temporarily, until a vaccine is created or the state government announces that they have the situation under control.
We discover by meeting with Mr. Thompson and Mrs. Vaillancourt that Massachusetts can provide a benefit of home schooling for specifics cases, these cases must be first discussed with a Doctor and the School system directors and IEP coordinators (Individualized Education Program).
With this program the state sends a professional to the child’s home to continue with the most important classes and training for the child.
